Lunch Schedules/ Scott:
Let’s be proactive in looking at our calendar to better plan for next year. Scott brought important information to consider for next year. As students eat in the classroom, how can we do a better job of keeping rooms tidy?
Suggestions to consider:
Would like fewer students eating in their classrooms.
Only classrooms downstairs to eat in their classes.
5th & 6th to eat at the same time. They can help with clean up.
Allow 5-8 minutes between lunches to have time for set up for the next group.
Would like grade levels eating together.
Would like students to come to lunch on time.
Celebrations & Parties in the room are ok, but not everyday.
Challenges:
Scheduling of specialist
Climate Survey Feedback
Thirteen staff members met with Arturo and Andrea to give positive feedback in regards to the climate survey. One comment shared by staff: “If you aren’t at the table, you are on the menu.” They were concerned that some staff had been targeted. Administration has to keep conversations confidential. They cannot control the comments and perceptions of staff. Sometimes the perceptions of staff are not based on all of the facts. Another comment from another staff member had to do with a concern that all staff may not feel comfortable enough to share their true thoughts with administration.
What are the next steps? The PACK Leadership Team members will share this information with the staff. They will also talk to their grade-level team members about whether or not they are ready to move on. PACK Leadership Team members will give Arturo and Andrea feedback from the staff by Wednesday, May 4th. Arturo and Andrea will review the results of the climate survey with their CAO. They will follow the direction of their advisors.
Writer’s Workshop Training
June 1, 2011 is a PR day and dedicated to do class list for next year.
Writer’s Workshop Training is to be an “after hours,” paid staff development, but we are being given the option to have that “paid” staff development during our regular work hours (1 – 4 p.m.). All who participate would be paid for 3 hours. The PACK Team leaders will give the Arturo and Andrea feedback by Wednesday, May 4th. We will go with the majority.
