A.R.

Almond Orthodontics has generously donated a rather large display board to encourage students to take A.R. tests by donating certain dollar amounts for A.R. point increments. Highest: 47,000 pts = $500 for AR purchases! There is also a competition between Carson and three other schools for the most points earned… party to be in June for the school that wins.

Collections this year: Limiting it to 3:

Gift Makers: Staff~ New sports equipment (box in staff room)

  1. Giving Tree: Coming next Month
  2. Pennies for Patients: March (to coincide with March Gladness)
  3. TBD

Recess Line-up

There was a concern that the whistle was being blown too early after recess (sometimes up to 9-10 minutes early) and students were being asked to line up quietly too much of their recess time. It was decided that if the field is open the whistle can be blown 3 minutes early, if it is closed, just 2 minutes.

Conferences

Just in case you are audited, you should keep track if/when you conference with parents. We were given a sheet to have parents sign, but if you forgot to have a parent sign, just initial when he/she was in, dates checked off, etc. This is highly important for those students on S.L.P.s… Turning the form into the office is not a ‘must’… this paper is to serve as your verification of conferences.

Report Cards

Highlights:

  • Written comments are a must/ “canned” are optional
  • Are due to admin by the 30th, but can be turned in starting next week (eek!)
  • All 3 trimester report cards are their own report cards… not cumulative at the end…
  • There will be a cover letter that goes home with the report card indicating the report cards will not show the last trimester’s scores, so parents will want to keep all 3… (1st trimester scores will NOT show up on 2nd or 3rd report cards)
  • We are going to make a paragraph to explain how A.R. impacts scores now that it is no longer a report card score…

Vertical Teaming:

Teams are requested to turn in their forms as soon as they can so we can put together the data for our December CT. If a grade level or two needs some help finding a time to get together, see Miles to help facilitate a time when you can meet. Only about half of the reps from each grade level need to meet. Thanks for your cooperation in helping meet the needs of our Carson kids!
