ROLL UPS and CLASSROOM PLACEMENT for 2010
  • Challenges with current process
    • lists modified in office over the summer by unknown folks
    • closing numbers vary dramatically from opening numbers; lots of comings and goings greatly affecting our lists; IEP students changing also impacts lists
    • classes not balanced as well as they could be
  • Focus--creating more equitable class lists
    • message to parents=balanced classrooms but matching child/teacher regarding learning styles--keep this policy or stop doing this?
    • change happens so there is need to be more flexible and have a more concrete system for making last minute equitable adjustments
    • Responsive service needs recognized
  • Classroom referral forms
    • DRAFT of Responsive Services Transition Worksheet (can we Carsonize it?)
    • How do we make sure some kids don't slip through the cracks so we have enough categorical data to better place students and recognize service needs?
    • Rollups done differently with info provided to generate initial lists, then make adjustments as needed after the list is out (perhaps into summer and late summer registrations)
DECISION--Reps will bring back concept to grade level teams for discussion and input as to what the format should be if we go this route; teams will review sample list format model
